The basement
The studio is partially below ground level, which is great for keeping unwanted sounds out, and the rock and roll in.
House Kit
The main house kit is a Taye Studio Maple. Here shown with a 70s Slingerland 13" tom.
The Drum Corner
The kit lives in a treated corner of the studio to promote clarity in the overhead mics, and is usually gobo'd in.
The live room
Weighing in at 19'x18'x9' (WxLxH), the live room is exactly that - "live" sounding. It brings a natural reverb to drums and other instruments as needed but can be deadened as well.
Amp Wall
For that wall-of-sound, we've got a great selection of tube amps and speaker cabs.
The Tracking Room
Plenty of space to flesh out some musical ideas in the live room.
The Kitchenette
The kitchenette has a mini fridge stocked with soda, water, and if you're lucky, a couple of leftover beers from a long tracking session. There is also a bathroom off the kitchen.
The control room
This is a relatively dead acoustic environment, outfitted fully with acoustic treatment on all 4 walls and the ceiling. This is where you can critically hear what you're capturing.
The control room (rear)
Every studio needs a good studio couch. This one is great for writing on, or taking a nap while waiting for someone to finish dialing in their parts.
The Vocal Booth
The vocal booth is cozy (4.5'x6') but has mood lighting and is a great quiet place to give your best vocal performance. No windows on the doors, so you can get as weird in there as you want.
The gear rack
It's basically a spaceship that gets your sound into the computer. Don't worry about all those knobs, you're in good hands.
Guitar Rack
This has a rotating cast of axes. Someone's always borrowing or loaning something, but you can visit the gear page to see what's always around.
Windows 95
We're not using windows 95, but you'll feel 95% better getting some daylight in your life. It's a great way to ward off seasonal affective disorder.
Tracking room pano
A 360 view of the tracking space.
Eqs
The studio is full of great places to get artsy and bump up your insta-game.
